About Me

I’m Kai Shaun, the Face (and Green Thumb) Behind FlorVora!

I live in Newnan, GA, where you can usually find me coaxing a shy Phalaenopsis into bloom, rescuing discount orchids from big‑box stores, or celebrating that triumphant first spike on a once‑neglected Cattleya.

Pull up a chair. Let me tell you how this adventure began and why I started this little blog just for folks like us.

One Quirky Bloom at Kroger Started It All

One morning at Kroger on Bullboro Drive, I spotted my very first peloric Phalaenopsis. She wasn’t a mini, but her teeny, perfectly odd flower spoke straight to my heart. I left her behind (it pained me!).

But that night I couldn’t stop thinking, “What if I brought her home?” Spoiler: I went back the next day. And just like that: orchid addiction unlocked.

My Daily Orchid Quests

At Publix, leaving without that Taida Fancy Queen (Peloric Phal) was a mistake I fixed first thing the next morning.

Mini Phal Teacup Mango? She literally “jumped” into my cart at Publix. She has the largest blooms among all my mini phals.

I’ve fished clearance orchids out of Lowe’s bins and CVS clearance racks, given them fresh bark mixes, and watched them bounce back stronger than ever.

What FlorVora Is All About

FlorVora isn’t just about pretty flowers (though, let’s be real, they’re stunning). It’s about the thrill of discovery.

Finding that oddball orchid tucked behind tomatoes and the joy of watching a rescue plant reward you with its first bloom. It’s about swapping tips, celebrating each new spike, and building a community where every orchid lover feels at home.

Mystery ID Corner: Got an unlabeled orchid? Snap a pic, and we’ll figure it out together, like plant detectives.

Local Orchid Hotspots: I’ll share exactly where I find scented minis and phals around Newnan: Publix, Sprouts, CVS.

Rescue Stories: Follow my clearance-rack rescues as I prune, repot, and revive sad orchids back to full glory.

Easy Care Tips: Watering tricks, humidity hacks, feeding schedule. I’ve made all the mistakes so you can skip straight to the big, beautiful blooms.

So, if you’ve ever caught yourself staring longingly at the orchid aisle, or if you’ve whispered encouragement to a wilting spike, welcome home. Here at FlorVora, we geek out over color variations, debate fertilizer ratios, and cheer on every unexpected bloom. Let’s grow together!
